For work with no length or width (clearing, trenching, hire), choose Enter area and put the hours on the Costs tab. On a computer, right-click the first corner, choose Measure distance, click each corner and close the shape. Google Maps shows the area at the bottom. The phone app gives distance only, so use Track / road and enter each leg.

Margin is the share of the price you keep after contingency. A 20% margin on $1,000 of cost gives a price of $1,250.

Quote for the client
The sure way: tap Copy email text, open your email app and paste. Open email app fills in the address and subject and copies the text for you. Long quotes are too big to pass straight to the email app, so paste the text in.

Hourly rates include fuel. Output is how many cubic metres the machine moves in an hour on normal ground.
Attachments
Extra cost per hour when an attachment is fitted. Leave at 0 if it is included in the machine rate.
Materials
Enter your cost price ex GST, per tonne or per m³. Markup is a percentage added on top of that price and counts towards your profit. Allowance covers compaction and wastage. Starting prices are the Cowara Contractors, Cowaramup list (pickup only, GST removed). Cartage is not included, so add it as an extra or truck hours.

Used when material is carted off site. Cartage is a price per truck load for the round trip to the tip.
